Dear Editor:

The Meadow Lake ‘Hockeyville Crew’ is overwhelmed by the support that the Town of Meadow Lake and surrounding area has given the Kraft/CBC Hockeyville competition.

Kraft/CBC has stated, “Hockeyville = Hockey + Community Spirit”.  The hockey season has long passed and but the community spirit has just begun to excel this competition into something we have not experienced in a long time.  It is amazing how everyone can come together and support a common goal for the betterment of a belief.  The belief may soon turn into reality as we capture the recognition of who we really are. When you go around the town and see the posters of ‘Meadow Lake is Hockeyville” displayed in the windows of businesses, residences, on fences, vehicles and in their yards you start to believe for yourself.  Individuals and businesses have come forward with donations, gifts in kind, labor as well as their undivided support.  The volunteerism for every project has been outstanding and undeniably the heart and soul of our community spirit.  Words alone cannot say the heart felt thanks that is deserving of our community.

Meadow Lake and surrounding residents should - stand up, take a bow and pat yourself on the back for all the hard work and support you have given to the ‘Hockeyville Challenge’.  The community spirit of the residents is above and beyond anything we could have imagined.  We should all be proud of our accomplishments as this was truly a team effort.

The ‘Hockeyville Crew’ will be on their way to Hamilton in early June and we ask for your continued support.  Join us for the next round of Hockeyville, which will be aired on CBC on June 6th.  There will be ten communities chosen to proceed to the next stage of  the competition.  If the judges do not select Meadow Lake to advance into the next round, audience voting will need to be done.  Please watch and vote for Meadow Lake on Tuesday, June 6th and ensure that the rest of Canada believes we are indeed “Hockeyville 2006”

Let’s show Canada our community spirit and join us in support of the challenge!

Thank you Meadow Lake!

Hockeyville Central

The Meadow Lake Minor Hockey Association would like to welcome all the visitors to our first ever website. In conjunction with North Battleford based M.R. Internet they have graciously donated their time in the design of our vision to allow greater communication to our members. The Association has set up numerous links on the left hand side of the page where we anticipate that most information will be found. Inside these pages we will host schedules for the arena as well as the schedule for the booth workers. In the future we will hope to add team schedules and practices as they are received from the coaches. Most of these will be available in Microsoft Word documents or Microsoft Excel formats. If you need these programs, please click on the schedules in the left hand pane and links are available for download. It may take some time for these links to be active, so please be patient. As we are new to this exciting venture, we respect all comments and suggestions.

These can be directed to our email address:
